My name is Mirjana, which means peace on Earth—"Mir" for peace and "Jana" for God's grace.
When I was seven, I dreamed of becoming an archaeologist and leading discoveries that would change the world. As I grew older, the pressures to "fit in" influenced by culture and society, dictated my choices and path.
We are indoctrinated into a world that celebrates external "success" leaving us feeling "not enough". We try to fill this inner void with status and "things", which are fleeting.
Despite a robust and successful professional life, I often felt unfulfilled. I was yearning for something beyond success. I wanted to transcend the limitations I had placed on myself and break free from the need to "fit in," unleashing my full potential.
Working with leaders and teams, including my personal life experiences, ignited my passion for understanding human behavior and intrinsic motivation. I found myself at the proverbial fork in the road and courageously stepped out of my comfort zone, paving a new path.
The most significant journey of my life has been one of personal growth—embracing my true self and stepping into my light. It required me to challenge the status quo of my ingrained thinking and doing patterns, which wasn't always easy. I seem to have this tenacious faith, and giving up is just not an option.
While this is my story, I am certain that each of you will recognise parts of yourself in it. Know that you are not alone. It's the human condition to experience fear, our greatest equaliser. It's also our greatest opportunity to build bridges and uplift one another.
In 35+ years of service, I’ve found that the toughest challenges aren’t about skills but stem from behavior and motivation rooted in a fear based scarcity mindset.
Fear of failure, change, vulnerability, rejection and imposter syndrome stifle creativity, teamwork, and productivity, impacting business outcomes.
The workplace offers a powerful opportunity to transcend fears, empowering us to shape our thoughts, words, choices, and actions—being our best selves.
Workplaces often prioritise skill development, overlooking the whole person. But skills alone aren’t enough to thrive; unconscious biases limit our potential.
Realising potential cannot be forced or found externally—it must come from within. Intrinsic motivation is the key to workplace engagement.
My journey revealed a gap in sustainable people development tools at work, revealing an expansive opportunity to shape the future of work.
