As many companies around the world, our Life Fitness Atlantic Business Unit with a team in the Netherlands & the UK, had to quickly adapt in 2020 when the pandemic started.
Remote working was introduced on a scale we had not seen before and definitely without testing it’s impact on employee engagement. Fast forward two years and remote working has become an integral part of how we work, but we didn’t have any real answers on how to deal with its more challenging aspects, i.e. engagement and team communication.
We brought ONE Beyond Success on board to help us improve employee engagement and team connection and help make our employees more resilient and self-sufficient to deal with ongoing change and challenges.
As talent retention is high on our agenda, we wanted our employees to feel good about themselves, confident about their capability, and strong in their commitment to our organisation.
What we found with ONE Beyond Success is that it is not an ordinary tick box approach training or course with very limited long-term effects, rather a unique approach that focuses on creating real behavioural change, challenging employees to become the absolute best version of themselves.
It gave key members of our Business Unit the opportunity to take responsibility for their own development and work happiness, creating a sense of purpose and ownership that brings stronger engagement.
The interactive workshops were structured in a way to challenge thinking and doing patterns and open up new perspectives. Everyone felt safe and was naturally pushed to dig deep and share openly, which was amazing to see. Our team really got to know each other on a deeper human level, resulting in more open communication and stronger connection.
Naturally, some of our team members were hesitant at the beginning, not knowing what to expect, however the interactive sessions proved to be a great way for everyone to open up without fear and as a result were able to figure out their own important drivers for work & life success and happiness.
Everything was backed with evidence-based science and practical examples, which made it solid and relatable. In between the workshops, there was virtual support with videos and articles to solidify the learnings.
Team members who participated learned a great deal about themselves. They have become more aware, more energised and more understanding of others. They take more initiative and responsibility for how they show up at work and in life. This makes them more engaged and confident and more connected to our organisation.
As an organisation we are very pleased with the outcomes. Our employee engagement improved by 20%, the ability to solve challenges arising at work improved by 37%, more faith in capabilities / personal efficacy improved by 29%, the confidence to get things done improved by 23% and the commitment to the organisation improved by 7%.
