My name is Mirjana, meaning peace on Earth. “Mir” for peace and “Jana” for God’s grace. At seven years old, I dreamed of becoming an archaeologist, leading discoveries that would change the world. But as I grew up, cultural and societal pressures to fit in shaped my choices and path. We live in a world that glorifies external "success", often leaving us feeling not enough, filling the void with status and "things" that quickly lose their meaning. 

By many measures, I had built a successful career. Yet I felt there was something more. I found myself questioning traditional definitions of success and searching for deeper meaning, purpose, and contribution. Working with leaders and teams, alongside my own life experiences, sparked a lifelong curiosity about what helps people truly thrive. Eventually, I arrived at a crossroads and had to choose between comfort and growth.

My greatest journey has been the journey within. It meant challenging limiting beliefs, overcoming fear, embracing uncertainty, and learning to trust myself more deeply. Through every challenge, my faith, values and commitment to growth became stronger. While this is my story, I believe it is also a universal one. We all experience fear. We all face moments that ask us to choose courage over comfort. It's our greatest opportunity.

In 35+ years of service, working with leaders and teams, I have learned that most workplace challenges are not caused by a lack of skill. Beneath disengagement, conflict, resistance to change, and underperformance, there is often something more human at play. Fear, self-doubt, disconnection, uncertainty, or a desire to belong. The way people experience work shapes how they think, connect, lead, and contribute.

Many organisations invest heavily in developing skills yet overlook the human experience that sits beneath performance. Skills matter. But skills alone do not create thriving people or thriving workplaces. What people need is an environment where they feel valued, connected, empowered, and able to grow. When those conditions exist, motivation becomes sustainable, relationships strengthen, and contribution expands.

This realisation became the foundation of ONE Beyond Success. I believe workplaces create their greatest impact when people thrive. That is why we are championing a People-First approach that improves the human experience at work and creates the conditions for Human Growth at Work™. Because when people thrive, workplaces thrive. And sustainable value follows.

I may not have become an archaeologist, but in many ways I am still pursuing that childhood dream. Today, my purpose is about uncovering what already exists within people, helping them grow, connect, contribute, and create meaningful impact.
